2K is a Kenyan underground Hip-Hop,Rap and Genge artist currently based in the US.He has been burning up the underground scene with a slew of mixtape material since 2008.His style can be characterized by an emphasis on lyricism and intricate wordplay.However,2K's journey as an artist may surprise yet impress some.This is because 2K has only been doing music for 2 short years.Within such a short time,2K has gathered a following by consistently dropping remixes to some of the latest songs while still delivering a 10 to 12 track mixtape,with original songs,every year.Being a hardcore hip-hop fan from an early age,it became evident to him that the kind of songs he liked were few and far between.This happened so often that 2K decided to take matters into his own hands. Having had no experience as a musician,2K started writing in late 2005 and recording songs which he listened to over and over critiquing his flow and delivery.2K used this 1st mixtape demo,titled 100%,as the blueprint to learn how write and deliver rhymes better and in a different style to other artists. In 2008,he was ready to begin and released '2KVIII'(2K8).With the help of friend and producer TZ Hustler from Ivory Coast,the mixtape served as an introduction of 2K to the world and was met with both positive and negative reviews.By 2009,he had found his comfort zone and was comfortable enough to branch out on his own and released 'BACK IN THE MMIX'. This tape was met with a better reception and introduced 2K to more fans,artists and Dj's,including Dj Dona, K-Nel and Dj Mafiosso,who were willing to work with him and promote his music.2010 has seen 2K gather even more momentum and has already released music from his latest mixtape titled 'THE LAST OF THE BEST'. He can also be heard in some of the hottest mixtapes like Dj Dona's 'STREETS ARE MINE',Dj Mafiosso's 'SWAHILI SWAGGER' series as well as K-Nel's 'THE LOST ANGLOHILI FILES'. Also,2K has been hard at work collaborating with some of your favourite artists and can seen in various blogs and websites.As for the future,2K will continue to deliver music of all genres and work with as many artists,producers and Dj's as possible.
