Biography
Swabir Mohammed is an unfamiliar name in the music circles but once you mention Redsan you elicit emotions from all. This is a well established dancehall musician who hails from the East African country of Kenya. Formerly a member of the group One 2 Moja and the tripartite East African crew with Ugandans Bebe Cool and Chameleone, Redsan has come far in his journey in the music industry. His first break was in the late 90s and used to enjoy massive airplay on stations across East Africa. In Kenya he was widely promoted through the national broadcaster, KBC and the various FM stations such as Metro FM, Nation FM (Now Easy FM) among others.
Career
His career has in no way been dull, after his solo venture into the music industry Redsan went on to record his first album - 'Seasons of the san' which included hit such as; Bageya - which features the tastes of Ugandan flavor through Jose Chameleone, Malaika, Julie, Wanipa raha - which was and still is a good dancehall beat from Redsan, Doesnt really matter - which features the sultry voice of Kaz (of the Project Fame Housemates) among others. This album shows the versatility of Redsan and had major shows around East Africa and internationally due to the fact that he was the only Kenyan dancehall artist worth his salt.
Redsan's career has since propelled to higher heights with more international shows than any other Kenyan artist out there. His latest album - 'The Pioneer', is out to prove to his fans and critics alike that Redsan is still the number one East African artist out there. The album features a variety of dancehall tracks which of the released have all been hits to both his local and international fanbase. The most popular of the hits is - Touch - this is a dancehall track done with a jamaican riddim. Its video compliments the song as it is just a video worth watching...featuring dancers that uphold the dancehall theme. The location is an underground parking and Redsan walks onto the scene to find the dancers all geared up to do their thang. The beat drops and Redsan unleashes his lyrical flow in his trademark bi-lingual style of English and Swahili.
Love Life
Redsan's love life had been pretty much cemented, up until recently when rumors crept in that him and his long time love - Delilah - had split up. These two lovebirds had had a very private affair away from the limelight and some of his fans have never even got to see this famous love of Redsan. The grapevine also chucked another rumor branch citing that redsan had some wierd relationship to Delilah's mother but noone ever proved anything and remained just that, a speculation.
